A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Remember, Six-Words is glimpse-of, not entirety.

Though it feels we know our fellow six-worders intimately by how openly we share, let's please remember our words often offer a fragment of how we are feeling *in that moment* and should be processed accordingly. I know that I post from experiences in all tenses- past, present and future and imagine that with the exceptions of those that know me in the flesh it may be hard to differentiate.

I promise I am all of the things I write about and then SO MUCH MORE and am sure that is safe to say for all of us. I love the forum and its candidness and respect our right to free speech and opinion but loathe seeing anything that even slightly smacks of judgmental.

We all come from different backgrounds, religions and races and God knows my shades of grey may be different than yours but that's the beauty of it- Six-Words at a time. :)

And just so no panties get in a bunch- this isn't directed at anyone in particular! I read a post that is near and dear to my heart and don't love the direction the comments were heading in... It happens sometimes- It's bound to with so many strong opinions on such a small site- but it was important to me that I try to articulate how the wonderfulness of the site is linked to filling in the blanks with an open mind when we are gifted only a small glimpse into each other's reality...
