A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

By physical fighting I'm confronting fear.

by Mhone on January 10, 2012   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

Recently my "brother" has been teaching me to defend myself and ground fight. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be able to defend myself, to fight, to be a winner. Also, as long as I can remember, I've had a loser's mentality. The fear of trying hard enough to succeed by the assumption of losing, consumes me. This loser's mentality follows me everywhere, in the classroom, in debates, even a friendly difference in opinion. By learning to fight, I will confront the emotions that restrain me. May my emotions dissolve to leave only ability and strength!
