Two weeks ago I went to have my annual mammogram. Now I’ve met with my oncologist for follow- up and results. He told me there has been ‘a small cell change’ in the area where my first breast cancer tumour was removed. He said although he is not too concerned he wants me to have a follow-up mammogram in six month’s time just to be on the safe side. I’m trying to stay positive, but I’ve had flashbacks of chemotherapy and radiation and five years of medication. I am just starting to recover from all of that. My energy levels are getting better and I’ve started to lose the weight that I put on through the medication. I’ve just recently started using products in my hair again. I was just beginning to get some of my old life back - in six month’s time I will know whether cancer will spin my life around again.
