A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

What makes you feel beautiful/handsome?

by Wench on June 25, 2012   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

I have Irish skin. It doesn't tan, it burns. Normally, when I go to the beach, I am super self-conscious of how pale I am. This weekend, we brought our baby to the beach for the first time and I didn't think about my skin at all because I was too excited, watching our little boy experience something new. For a while, the two of us just sat in the shallow water and let the waves gently sweep up over our legs and holding this cautiously curious little boy in my arms, I felt more beautiful than I ever have in my life. Like this is the culmination of all I am meant to be - motherhood, being a mama lion and caring for this innocent, sweet little boy, makes me feel beautiful.
