Why is wind power so expensive?

by thepariah on June 25, 2012   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

An exhaustive report on the reason wind turbine produced electricity costs so much more than conventionally produced energy is available now.

Published by the GWPF, it is well written, readable, credible and not hidden behind a paywall.

As most people would guess, the main reason for the cost of windpower is that often the wind just doesn't blow so wind turbines must be backed up in some manner, most usually with fast responding natural gas or newer nuclear plants to back them.
