A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SIX WORD » LIFE

The day ended with a sing-a-long.

Today, for 12 hours, my sister-in-law, Pam and I moved my parents into an assisted living facility. They are unpacked, set up and there's pictures on the walls. When we left, they were doing a sing-a-long in the common area with their soon-to-be friends. Mom played wii bowling. Thank God for Pam, for the staff of Aegis Assisted Living and they 2 awesome movers we hired for making what could have been one of the worst days of my life into a smooth-running, long, but relatively stress-free day. Pam and I haven't always seen eye-to-eye, but today, when I needed her, she was there for me. I guess that's the real definition of family.
