A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Happiness is pearls. Wearing triple strand.

by accidentaltourist on November 16, 2012   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

It's all just costume jewelry. Cheap, thrift store treasures, but each piece makes me smile. I have three pearl necklaces, and I wear them almost exclusively of any other pieces. The single strand is dainty and sweet, and dresses up any simple outfit. The double strand is a little more flashy...it's tied with a ribbon, which adds a bit of romance to the look.

But the thick heavy rope of shiny orbs that can be tripled makes a bold statement. It sets off the neckline of every dress or blouse and says, "here I am" in no uncertain terms.

Today, that is the message I want to send.
