A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

I'm this short for a reason!

by BecomingLuke on November 19, 2012   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

I'm 5'4" and in my family that's really short (average is 5'10" and up), so the joke in my family has always been that I'm short because if I was any taller I'd be too afraid to stand up (yes I'm terrified of heights... and by heights I mean anything more than 5ft off the ground).
My theater teacher told me to got up on the catwalk to make sure nothing was left up there from the play last weekend, my only response to that was to (well first almost die and shortly after) say "I'm short for a reason, I'm too terrified of heights to be any taller, let alone be 100 feet off the ground."

He laughed and made me do it anyways (and I conned one of the freshmen into doing it for me to avoid the anxiety attack)
