A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Famous last words: "This is better."

My fella was supposed to help me clean my gutters yesterday at 5 p.m. He ran late, but opted to do the deed anyway. It was cold. It was dark. The ground was wet. The extension ladder we had was ok for most of the house, but on one side, the top of the ladder barely reached the gutter.

He didn't pull any stunts (thank goodness) but there were several spots that were pretty scary for me as a spectator, new girlfriend, homeowner.

I guess this was a "need to be there" Six. I was freaking out watching my new love risking his neck to remove leaves from my gutter. But it all turned out well. He survived and he still loves me.
