A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

BikeRide to Remember. Tires. Me. Pumped.

by Believe on March 20, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

Earlier this month the SMITHmag community lost a dear friend. James had two great loves: DynamicDbytheSea and cycling. You didn't have to know him very long or very well to understand that James was a passionate man.

Fifty years ago today James began his story. A story cut short on time, but long on love. A story that inspired people he never knew existed to live faster and love deeper.

Join us today, March 20, for a bike ride to honor him. Around the block or across your city, ride with a friend or with reflection. Take this time balancing on wheels to consider how well your life is balanced. Are you pedaling through life too fast that you are missing the scenery? Has your course lost direction?

Ride to honor. Ride to inspire. Ride to Remember.

Happy Birthday, James.
