A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Celebrating neighborliness today. Thanks, Mr. Rogers.

Today, March 20th would have been Mr. Roger's 85th birthday. I try to embody his spirit by reaching out to children, giving them my time, my attention and my support. The following quotes resonate with me, so in honor of a great advocate for children, I've put them in this backstory.

"Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life," he once wrote, "is a hero to me."

"When we treat children's play as seriously as it deserves, we are helping them feel the joy that's to be found in the creative spirit. It's the things we play with and the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives." -Fred Rogers
