In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

What to do with my future?

by Layne on April 5, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

This past week had been spring break and I've been on a college visit road trip. Some prestigious schools, others not so much. 'Its just an education' my parents say when I tell them I don't know how I felt about the schools after each visit. Sure, it was good to see what I liked and didn't like about different schools, but I don't know what I want to do with my life yet. Like absolutely no direction. For all the work I do in high school now, I think it should just continue into college, but this is a chance to actually enjoy what I'm working towards. I just don't know at all what I want to do, all things I have an interest in dont exactly have the jobs or pay in them that my parents think would be a good option. Marine biology has recently sparked an interest, I could be on the water like I love and I'm a good biology student minus my intolerance for blood, but that doesn't have a promising job market.. Any ideas or tips on figuring all this out?
