Credit card defrauded, new bicycle stolen.

by illuminatrix on April 13, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

All inside of one week. All within 10 days of moving to a new city (in a new country). Card was replaced and bogus charges re-credited (booze, smokes, fast food, Thai massage, strip club, etc...nice) about a week ago. Today, go downstairs with my wife so I can go with her and help her find where she'll start job training today, her bike's there, mine's gone. It had 2 extremely burly chain locks, both wheels, frame, seat and rack all locked together. One lock was a key lock, the other a combo lock (I guess bolt cutters aren't prejudiced). It was locked up on the 3rd floor parking level of my building (a pretty tall tower) with security cameras, etc. They'll check the camera footage later, but being a new bike, it didn't even have registration tabs on it yet; they're in the mail. Took 3 rides on that bike. Luckily, it was a pretty cheap bike (price-wise). Still a shitty way to wake up today. The credit card thing is also a shitty welcome to my new home. *sigh*
