A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Illness changed LeCirque to Trick Dog

by TheUnknownComic on April 17, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

For our anniversary I had an NYC weekend planned that included seeing the play of Breakfast at Tiffany's and eating at Le Cirque (I know I cheated to fit it into six) while staying at Trump Tower (the play starred Emile Clarke from Game of Thrones - I was going with an "as seen on tv" theme).
The play got cancelled then we both became ill. We cough and cough and cough. So now we are going to go to Irvington, VA which is the exact opposite of NYC. It is so quiet that it gives me the creeps. No car noises, sirens, random yelling, and endless crowds (things I normally find comforting) just quiet. I guess NYC will be next time around. If you get lost in VA or somehow find yourself in Irvington, go to the Trick Dog Cafe they serve a great dinner and a much better (by miles) martini then you would expect from a town that has maybe 1500 people in it.
