A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here and on SmithTeens. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Librarians know best: our communities matter!

by favepeep on April 17, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

In light of this week’s tragedy in Boston and the many who pitched in to help, the theme of this year’s National Library Week (April 14-20), “Communities matter @ your library” seems all the more pertinent and poignant.

As many libraries struggle to reach people in this increasingly digital/technological world, the theme is an invitation to “local campus, school, and business communities to discover your library as a hub for engaging in creative conversations about the community’s needs.”

People are encouraged to “take this special week to show that your library is so much more than a repository of resources—that it’s the place for discussion that can enrich, shape, and transform your community.” If you haven't been to your local library recently, check it out!
