A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

Boston news bringing nothing but sadness.

by lillybrook on April 20, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

This may be an unpopular view, and I don't mean to diminish any of the pain caused by what happened at the marathon, but I couldn't help but feel sad when I found out that the suspects were two young men under the age of 30. I've read many reports of promising lives that somehow turned to... this. I've seen the comments from their parents who LOVE these boys. As a mom myself, I cannot imagine trying to wrap my head around this. One son, dead. One son, a sophomore in college, in custody. The death, the injuries, the pain. Knowing the biases that already exist around people foreigners in the US and refugees. Fearing for their living son and how he will be treated within our justice system. Guilt and wondering what parenting tactic might have changed history.

There such tragedy in this.
