A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Life's not perfect but its mine

by jmjcmoraes on April 26, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

I grew up with three sets of drug addicted parents, physically abused, had my mother "give" me to her drug dealer to pay for her drugs, have Multiple Sclerosis and am living on less than $1200 a month. That being said... I have also never used drugs, have been married for 21 years to my best friend, have two remarkable children that are the apple of my husband's and my eyes, and am happier than I ever imagined I could be. It may not be the life that most would want- but all those experiences have shaped me into who I am today and they have all brought me to where I am today- and for that- I wouldn't change a thing!
