A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Yes, I love my older brother very much. He is the best brother any girl could ever ask for. Some people say a dad is his daughter's first love. That may be true, but I think a brother is his sister's first hero. And now, mine is leaving. Two years. Twenty four months. Seven hundred and thirty days. That's how long my hero is going to be gone. What a curious thing it is to have someone you love fly away in an airplane and not return for two years. Except it feels like he's flying away on his own, not in an airplane, like Superman. As long as he comes home, it'll be okay. But I'm going to miss my Superman, my hero, my big brother.
