A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

Thought things came only in threes?

by jl333 on May 20, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

Yesterday a family member passed away, only to find out today, that another family member was killed in a single car crash yesterday, and then as if that wasn't enough, 13 minutes later a friend calls crying to inform me that a group of friends went jumping off a waterfall yesterday and their best friend died. One woman jumped off and didn't reappear above the surface immediately. The friend then jumps off the water fall to retrieve her and save her, and in the process, was trapped under water for 20 minutes and drowned. The man has a young baby girl. The woman was eventually rescued by others. 3 deaths, one day, completely unbearable. And oh, to top it off...the one lady who let me go 2 weeks ago, but then changed her mind, has changed her mind again, she letting me go at the end of the week. She gave me my notice today. This has been one crazy ass day. Lets just say, this non-religious gal will gladly accept prayers.
