A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here and on SmithTeens. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SIX WORD » PAIN & HOPE

Be a Phoenix, reborn from ashes...

by PoeticallyPondering9 on May 25, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

Do you ever feel, in times of trauma, agony, heartbreak, tragedy, or depression, that you are nothing but the embers of what you used to be, of what you will never become? Dammit, well, its not true! I mean, it may feel so true, the truest metaphor of them all. But the truth is that you have the chance to become a new, more vivid being because of what you've been through, because of what you've conquered. The fire may have burnt you down, but it didn't put you out. Rise from the ashes like the great fire bird. :). Be a Phoenix, always be a Phoenix. :).
