A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here and on SmithTeens. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SIX WORD » LIFE

Mis-stepped, and momentarily left the moment.

We hear it all the time. Stay in the moment. Be present. Don't multi-task.
About eleven o'clock last night, I grabbed my iPad and stepped outside to capture a shot or two of the super moon. The operative word here is stepped.

I stepped off the front porch, missed the last step, landed in the bleeding hearts and whacked my head on the brick wall. I saw a few stars, the big moon, and have one doozy of a headache.

And, no. I didn't get my pictures:-( That'll teach me to watch where I'm going instead of going where I watch.
