A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Small-town pavilion not AI mainstage, alas.

Last weekend, my theater company hosted a karaoke contest as part of a community fun day. The entire event was a fundraiser for Make A Wish, and meant to give the community something to do to kick of summer as well as raise money for the kiddos in our area. The karaoke contest was structured in true keeping with the concept of "fun"...it was not meant to carry any of the entrants to further success in the industry. Really, guys...there were no talent scouts hiding among the moms and dads with their cotton candy-covered kids, and the judge you didn't recognize? He was the other judge's boyfriend, not some mysterious agent seeking the NEXT BIG THING. But thanks for playing....we did good for Make A Wish, and that was the point, yes? :)
