Only clean underwear for my camper.

by notjustagirlintheworld on June 29, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

Apparently at the very moment I finally I put all the things that had been on our dining room table for weeks into the camp trunks and zipped them shut, my husband decided we had been doing far too much laundry and it was wildly inefficient. Hence forward wash would done on a weekly basis only. Unbeknownst to me, that left my camper with exactly two pairs of underwear. One in his drawer and one on his body. For three days, the boy showered every morning and then put on the same underwear. Finally it was Friday (heretofore known as laundry day) and his 'other' pair of underpants were clean. Meanwhile, having been brought into the underwear crisis, I unzipped the trunk and reached into the bag of 40+ pairs of *clean* underpants and gave him three more. My husband thought this was heresy until I explained that the boy would return in six weeks and every single article of clothing that made it home would be dirty. So after the customary 'home shower' he would once again be without any under garments unless he had a few clean pairs at home. I have to admit, the whole thing bothered me a lot more than it bothered them.
