Out-of-place gas can prompts 911 call.

by dakat123 on July 17, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

Yesterday I was driving on the Main Street in downtown Rome, Broad Street. As I'm about to pull into a parking space at The bank, I notice a gas can sitting in a parking space. Very odd to me this can was. I decided to call the police just to be on the safe side. I felt a little ridiculous because it was Rome and just a gas can but I googled the number. I really didn't want to dial 911. It was after 5, so no one answered the numbers I attempted. 911 it was. I explained the location of the can, offered my name and decided to circle around and wait for the officer. Thankfully the gas can was empty. I'm very glad the cop didn't pat me on the head or talk down to me. It was a strange experience for me. I was immediately suspicious.
