A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here and on SmithTeens. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SIX WORD » LIFE

Decided to be my own life-coach.

by LetTheWolfin on August 17, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

(Ok, I admit, bit cheeky hyphenating 'life coach' to make it one word to shoehorn it into a Six....!

Basically, have had an epiphany that in order to achieve my goals, I need to focus myself with daily mantras and affirmations. I have big dreams and high hopes for my future success and have decided to set aside time to do Morning Pages (from the wonderful The Artist's Way which I've done previously) to clear my mind before the day's challenges set in. I used to pray every morning but haven't for a few years now (even though I do pray spontaneously all the time). Have reminded myself that prayer/meditation/focus every morning, creating a routine and structured beginning to the day, will set me up for the day. Been away from home for four weeks now, so have had time to reflect on changes I want to make in my daily life, from a distance. Both literally and allegorically, distance creates perspective. And nobody else can do this for me - this is my journey, my path and my potential that I want to fulfil. Only *I* can do this, so I'm going to be my own life coach.
