A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here and on SmithTeens. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Blinking and seeing the house differently.

Changing entire configurations in my mind like the frames in a view master (remember those?).

I used to do that all the time with just about any house “I met”.
I have been living here for some time and have learned to do what I can do with what I’ve got. .. Mainly paint, hand-tools, a dying drill-driver and tape…pick a tape any tape (mostly electrical and duct).
I let a friend borrow my drill and he asked if I wanted power tools for my birthday?

He said he almost bought me a set (but knows how picky I am about tools)…I would have been grateful. I was picky about tools when I had almost 2 of everything. Now? I feel the Tim Taylor home improvement grunt rising higher in my ...agh...argh...AR ar...

Sometimes I feel like a monkey using a coconut trying to keep this house functioning.

My mind got all giddy, greedy and wild for a moment and I dreamed of the tool shed I’d build first…
