A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here and on SmithTeens. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SIX WORD » LIFE

Big hair, big heart, big change.

by Larry_D._Smith on September 17, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

As some of you may remember, the only time I've been the Sixer of the Day was when my boy was born and Rachel F. awarded me the honor for, "Hitchhiked to delivery room: blizzard boy!" So on the eve of the biggest redesign in almost seven years of Six Words, I offer an update on the first Six I wrote ("Big hair, big heart, big hurry").

Tomorrow I'll share an editor's note detailing all the great new stuff, will look forward to your feedback, and I thank you all for making this place what it is: an awesome community of storytellers.
