A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

We need a Miracle for Marjie

by jl333 on October 21, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

My dear friend Marjie has been battling ALS for 4 years now. It's a terrible disease. Once diagnosed, life expectancy is usually no more than 5 years. Marjie is a fighter. She's a fighter for her family. She has a husband, three teenage sons, her parents, sisters, nieces and nephews. Marjie is pretty much confined to a walker chair. Her body is weak, and everyday living is a chore. She needs assistance in day to day living. Any well wishes would be greatly appreciated for my friend.
In the photo, is Marjies sister and her husband, their two kids, and the grandparents. They were nice enough to include me in their family photo. The shirts all say 'Miracle for Marjie'. Photo was taken yesterday at the ALS walk in San Diego
