A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

Completed first draft. Best birthday present.

by LetTheWolfin on November 18, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

Happy Birthday to me today! Having an uncharacteristically low-key birthday, mostly because I was too busy to plan a party (my usual MO) as I set myself today's date as my deadline to have finished my first draft of my screenplay.

And I've done it.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, nobody - nobody - doubted I could get it done (in time, or even at all) more than I. But here I am, having written the first draft of my first feature-length movie. That, for me, is the best birthday present I could give myself. Because now that I know I can do it, because now that I've seen that I can do it, I can do it again. And again. And again.

I realise this is a bit of a boast but I'm feeling so proud of myself, not to mention royally surprised!
