A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here and on SmithTeens. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SIX WORD » LIFE

Performed successful open-heart surgery on iPad.

For months now, my iPad's been telling me my storage capacity is low and needs upgrading. I'll be damned if Apple are gonna get me sucked into their monopoly. Once you save your Apple stuff on the iCloud, you can't go back. You must always always use the Apple ecosystem from then on. So I finally, after meaning to do it for months, moved all my precious pics and videos (mostly of my kids) to my laptop, where I can subsequently organise them into albums, and even go on to save them onto memory stick. It took surprisingly shorter than expected and now I have a fresh blank slate on my iPad to rinse-repeat. Phew!
