A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SIX WORD » LIFE

My childhood's winters weren't this cold.

by TigerROS on December 13, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

I'm a few decades older than I was. Global warming or not, I don't remember ever being this cold. And it isn't really that cold! Ever since I spent the winter in Florida, 6 or 7 years ago, this full blooded ,born on the Prairie Canadian girl can not stand the cold! I am in my house as I write this, with long underwear on under my pants, and no less than 3 tops of varying thickness.
I couldn't WAIT to get outside and go sledding on the hill behind my house, and the winter of sleeping in the snow fort I built in the backyard. Now, just a trip to the corner store involves FAR too many things to zip, snap, or button up.
