Yellow light. Car stopped. Accident happened.

by jl333 on April 29, 2014   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

This seemingly happens quite frequently. The light turned yellow. The car following, "assumed" the car in front was going to go through the light. The car following speeds up, only to realize that the car in front of him decided to stop at the yellow. Excellent reason not to assume. The car following the first car skids at least 65-70 feet, and rear ends the other car. The car that stopped at the light was hit so hard from behind, that it got pushed into the middle of the intersection. Luckily I saw the smoke from the burning rubber, so I got over into the next Lane. But just 1 year ago, in the same exact spot, a 5 car accident happened right in front of me. I can't explain why I'm always seemingly one car behind these accidents. I must be a pretty good driver to avoid these mishaps!
