A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SixContest #30: What to Write in the Sky

Picture yourself lounging in the park with shades on. You glance up at the clouds and spot white, puffy letters, forming someone’s love note or an advertisement in the sky. Yes, it’s summer — the time of year when planes whizz by and leave fun, cool, or cryptic messages for all to see. This week’s SixContest challenges you to come up with your best skywriting message in six words. For bonus points, tell us who the message is for in parentheses! Your six words can include a backstory (we love reading them), but please submit only one entry per comment. So, what would you write in the summer season's clear, blue skies?

This SixContest runs through Friday, 7/4 (two weeks!) until 3:00PM ET. Submit your entries in the comments below or on our social media pages (remember to tag #sixwords): facebook.com/sixwordmemoirs | twitter.com/sixwords | sixwordmemoirs.tumblr.com
