Santa always got orange Nehi soda.

by LotLessMonster on June 30, 2014   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

We always put out cookies and orange Nehi soda for Santa and carrot slices for the reindeer. I can't remember if I ever asked why not Hot Cocoa, but Santa always always drank the soda and ate the cookies and fed the carrots to the reindeer. I know that because in the morning that little plate was empty and the soda bottle , too. Years later when dad was close to the end of his rope, I was able to bring Santa back a little closer. I brought dad a bottle of orange Nehi. Helped him hold the straw to his mouth. He said it was like gold. Apparently made him feel like a rich man. I treasure the thoughts.
