A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Being in the majority isn't marginalization.

Being apart of a fairly small marginalized community, we have to rely on allies to get much of anywhere simply because they are louder and taken more seriously.
In the recent days a couple of people in the trans community by choice have decided that being called cisgender is derogatory and that they don't like it. Cisgender (cis) is just a term that is used to state that someone's gender identity and their biological sex match up. It can also just mean 'comfortable in skin'
A couple of people needed to be reminded that just because they are an anomaly in our group that that doesn't mean they lose their privilege as a cis person out in the 'real world'

(I also recently learned that there's a derogatory term for straight people but I won't get into that just because I think it's incredibly funny)
