In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

Always had Bacall hair. Gumption forthcoming.

Lauren Bacall was always my favorite actress from the 40s. I watched all the old movies on Million Dollar Movies when I was a teenager. And I especially liked her in The Mirror has Two Faces, which is also a favorite Barbra Steisand movie of mine.
RIP, Ms. Bacall.

As for my hair, it has always been that wavy 40s hair, which, at times, annoys the heck out of me because it poofs in front. But when I look at Ms. Bacall, I see it much differently. Now I'm working on the gumption factor. I know I have that too. Somewhere.
Now where did I hide it??

Fondly remembering the great Ms. Bacall,
