A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

Blue Valiant. Blue eyes. Valiant. Blue.

by MissFortune on May 6, 2009   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

My sister was 13 when I was born. She died of cancer 7 years ago today, 3 mos. after her diagnosis. This was her first car she got when she was 16 from our great aunt. I remember it vividly, a baby blue Plymouth Valiant to match her beautiful blue eyes (mine are brown). She was brave in the end and I guess I was too, we talked and dealt with the inevitable openly. She didn't want chemo., wanted to make the most of the time she had left with her teenage kids and her husband. Her loss has left a huge hole in my heart, I miss her terribly. It's hard to believe I haven't seen her in 7 years.
