A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here and on SmithTeens. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

SIX WORD » FOOD

I cook, therefore I am, bigger.

by Peachy on August 12, 2009   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

Food, family, friends have been the focus of my life for as long as I can remember; mix in a lot of wine, a good measure of laughter, a spattering of tears and you get memories wrapped up like pigs in a blanket.
Italian, French and German heritage can only add to the mirth and girth as the years keep padding along.
But at the heart of it all is love, no beginning, no end and no excuses needed. I could be thinner, healthier, richer but I could not have had a better life; at sixty-five, I am still working, still laughing, still feeding the multitudes and loving every bite of the apple. Seriously, the five basic food groups sustain me: sugar, salt, butter, alcohol and dark chocolate. Okay, I could live with just the Champaigne and Trufles; all right, all right, just pass the Trufles and leave me alone.
