A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Muses teaching me lesson on friendship.

I read these sweet novels about friendship and it seems so easy. You met someone new, you spend some time over coffee, the friendship grows from there. Another invitation, reciprocally offered, and there you are. Mutual respect for each other's unique talents and gifts.

But for me, it hasn't been like that where I live. It's much, much harder. People have busy lives, with little room for you to fit in if you haven't secured a niche long ago.

My Muses tell me to give up for a while. To be happy creating my projects. To guard my time as if it is precious. To simply wave hello and nod. Be my own best friend for a while.

At least for a month, they said. Try it for a month. They aren't going anywhere and they will be my supportive September friends. I bought a new Fall Fashion magazine today and we're going to look through it and tear words that strike my fancy. They will go on my September calendar page tomorrow. It's kind of a Word Art thing I create.

First words are: Live in color!
