Pregnancy surprise: Pro-choice, but...keeping baby!

by AmandaHoltom on January 8, 2010   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

I thought there was no way my husband and I would have a third child. No way, no how, too hard. We'd be outnumbered! Our kids are already dressing themselves, reading, and most importantly--out of diapers! But when we found out Thanksgiving 2009 that I was pregnant ("OMG, how did this happen again???"), we did a lot of soul searching.

Clearly we're extremely fertile, given that with our first child I was on DEPO, and with the second we'd actually used Plan B! We're both 100% pro-choice, so we'd thought it would be easy to decide what to do if a THIRD unplanned pregnancy happened; we only ever wanted two kids at most.

But this pregnancy has surprised us both. Suddenly he's kissing my belly and I'm humming lullabies. We're actually really looking forward to this. Who knew? Talk about a pregnancy surprise.
