About Me

If you were to throw up your hands in exasperation and yell \"it's the story of my life,\" what would you be talking about?
My trip to Arizona in 2007. I stayed for 5 months. I have photos...just ask me! I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. We have a very Detroit-centric outlook on life...if it's not here, it doesn't matter. Really. Once I made it past the boundaries of the city (I move a half-mile outside of the city for the schools for my kids), my world opened up in ways I never imagined. Through a very active Girl Scout troop, I experience parts of Michigan I would never have seen. Through a very active Boy Scout troop, I ventured into the rest of the USA. Looking for cheap but fun vacations took me and my kids into bicycle tours...I found the rest of Michigan. Through needing to not be here, I found the Sonoran Desert...my new love and a place for my ashes. On return to Detroit, I was renewed, and was able to jump in with both feet again. My return involved traversing Route 66...what a fun time! Three days to get to Arizona, 9 days to return! What an adventure! Route 66 is America! I now feel I have not missed any of the largeness of this land, and feel very protective of it. Mess with the USA, you mess with me! Then, through my profession of nursing, I have met the most courageous people. Largeness of spirit, of life-force. Life is larger than I thought.

In bed I like to read:
anything that will calm my mind or take me away to another zone/place/time

My favorite story of all time is:
Alice in Wonderland or Little Women. Both have given me an outlook on life that I never would have achieved otherwise.
