About Me

If you were to throw up your hands in exasperation and yell \"it's the story of my life,\" what would you be talking about?
My story entails an anxious collegiate student athlete who finds that the pressures of the world melt away with each shot of vodka poured. It is the story of a rather peculiar double life; days filled with multiple practices and classes in order to earn deans list grades and a starting spot on the division one field hockey team, and nights filled with black outs, debauchery, AND shenanigans. My active addiction started as a wild party; coming out of the closet, hitting all the craziest gay bars in Philadelphia, and feeling completely untouchable, but like most addictions it ended poorly...lets just say it had to end. But somehow I made it out; out of the darkness and out of my active addiction... Life today is more or less about breathing deep, being immersed in other cultures as an urban educator, connecting to the human race, and enjoying the view from my single gear road bike.

Besides SMITH, I read stories at:
I listen to a lot of This American Life...I also hear plenty of captivating stories in recovery.

In bed I like to read:
memoirs, The Millennium trilogy, southern short stories.

My favorite story of all time is:
I really love the story of Minnie Driver's character, Grace in 'Return to Me.' Favorite ever? I'm not sure.

Right now, I'm reading:
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest.
