A love story within each ornament.

The ornaments on my tree tell a story. They tell my story. They speak of the love I have for life and the love I have for the important people in my life, both living and departed. My tree is a backdrop for a timeline that evolves and lengthens with each passing year.
I can look at my tree and see the little grizzly bear that was my heart's delight in my teens and am suddenly transported back to the times when I was a spotty, angst filled girl. I see "Our First Christmas" wedding cake and remember the excitement and uncertainty of being a newlywed. I can also see the gaps where I had once hoped a "Baby's First Christmas" bootie or rattle might hang. Instead I fill the gaps with angels and hearts, knowing they tell a quiet love story too.
So many ornaments that would seem trivial to a guest, but have so much meaning to me. All these little memorials to times gone by remind me that there was, is, and will always be love close by.
