Should some narratives stop being written?

A colleague and I were talking about this the other day, and I'd love to know what you think. Are there narratives that have caused or presently cause so much harm they should be censored from our national/international catalogue? (Note that I realize none of us has that kind of ultimate control, but if it could be done...) Why or why not?
