Many thanks to my Six pals who've reached out to me these past few days. As I always say, Sixers are amazing people, and I'm blessed to know you.

As for my hiatus, it's been a rough year. Nothing's been the same since my uncle passed away last July (Saturday will be 1 year already), then the layoff 2 months after that. It's been one thing after the next. We've had to make some big sacrifices here lately. One of which is our house. We're moving out this week; Friday is the big day when the moving truck will be in our driveway shocking all the neighbors. We've lived here 7 years. It's a must-do in order to continue to support my son who's away at college. He has 1 more year, and we're going to move in with my darling sister while continuing to support him. I also withdrew from the masters degree program in social work I was supposed to start next month. It's not a good time to commit to those gigantic student loans. Maybe next year, after my son graduates and is on his own.

I like my new job and enjoy helping students, but it's just 19 hours a week. The hubby is also still hunting for a stable gig. My laptop went kaput, so I haven't been able to write and submit. My autistic teen son is going through a very rough phase currently, and we're doing our best to help him through it. This move won't be easy for him. He loves his room and hates change. There's more to this, but that's the condensed version.

Anyway, despite the shit storm that is upon us, the husband and I are still in good spirits. A generous, dear friend is giving me a laptop, saving a huge part of my sanity. Some days seem hopeless, then wonderful people step up and help save the day. Among ourselves, we almost always find reasons to laugh. And you know what they say about laughter.
