I developed severe and chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 23 after the birth of my first child when she was 3 months old. I loved to dance, was always active, and this diagnosis knocked me for a loop, but I was determined not to let it get me down, even with the side effects medication occurred. I will dance in my seat if I can't be on two feet. I faced it, fought every step, had two more children, became a nurse, and only retired when RA had too much effect on my limbs. Today I still smile and still face this disease with a smile, and will continue to dance, if not physically, always in my dreams.
