Try explaining the concept of color.

I was playing with my dog at a park yesterday when I saw a mother with five children. Three of them needed to use the restroom but the other two wanted to stay and play. They looked like they were giving the mom a lot of trouble so I offered to watch her two kids who wanted to play. She gratefully accepted my offer and started leading the other three children to the bathroom.

The two kids I was watching seemed really nice. One was a boy, about 6 years old. The other was a 3-year-old girl. The boy quickly ran off to play on the play structure. Keeping an eye on him, I led the girl and my dog to a bench nearby.

I said to the girl something along the lines of, "look at those beautiful white daisies!" I pointed at them, but the girl didn't look over to the flowers. I took a closer look at her and noticed that she was actually blind, and I hadn't realized this before. "White?", she asked me.

I realized that she didn't know what color was because she couldn't see and in that moment, I had no idea what I was going to say to her. I carefully did my best to explain to her what color was.
