Meditation is what brought us together.

My eventual husband and I went to the same high school; he was a year ahead of me. But we didn't know each other because each of the three grades had over 800 students. We both hung out at the cool neighborhood YMCA, going to dances (Santana played there once), and I was in a theatre group (Danny Glover, an American Conservatory Theatre acting student gave a performance there for our group). Yet we still had never crossed paths.

Then ten years later, a friend in the meditation organization in which I was involved, told me she was thinking of going out with a guy she had just met there, and did I know him? No, I had said. But then I went to a party and there he was. Instantly I felt a shock went through my system! I knew him, even though I didn't. It felt not like "love at first sight" but an intense recognition on some other level. It must have been meant to be--we've been together for 37 years, three kids and one grandkid.

Yep, that was my "pinnacle moment."
