For Six Contest #122

I'd been waiting for that opportunity for 9 years. When the moment arrived, my hands shook fiercely as I stuffed the kids' and my belongings into trash bags and then into my tiny car to drive off toward what I hoped was safety and solace. Two simple things that one shouldn’t have to fantasize about. Two simple things that should be a part of every person’s life. More than a decade later, I’m happy to report, I have those things and plenty more. This could be considered a weight-loss story because I dropped a lot of heavy burdens and a dangerous situation where infidelity wasn't even the worst problem and recreated a new world of hope, which felt weightless.
