Hello 2023! The new year is filled with the same old challenges, surprises yet to be unveiled, and, of course, strong opinions about what we need to change in the year ahead. For SixContest #149, we'd like you to declare the new laws of 2023 in just six words.

What law — from the silly to the serious — are you making in 2023? How about leaving up Christmas lights until mid-March? Or do you proclaim that every frosting bowl has to be licked clean before the oven timer goes off? Should congress pass a law banning dad jokes? Is it time to eliminate the word "moist"? Share whatever new law you are certain needs to be passed, as long as you abide by ours: Say it in six!

If you'd like to share a backstory (we love reading them!), be sure to submit your entry as a Six and include the link to the Backstory in the comments below. Share as many stories as you like, but do post only one entry per comment.

Remember to tag us and include #NewLawsInSix when posting your Six Words to Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
